The height chart I've done for myself to remind me how they'd look beside eachother. It's not too familiar to beastars but I was inspired by the style of it so much, I think you could see it in my art.
Beastars! Parappa! Two medias I love! why not mix them? see what happens hehe!
Ooh this one is gonna be a doozy, im gonna go off on a tangent so bare with me or just skip down for the art pieces. So the thing about this au is that the parappa characters take over the beastars characters. Katy takes Legoshi's role as the main character since she wants to and dates Lammy, who's the Haru of the situtaion. Why? first of all Katy's a carni and Lammy's a herbi so yea gotta at least use some beastars world building to make this kinda work. This makes an interesting issue tho, since Lammy is a sheep and Katy is a cat which means Lammy can easily kick Katy's ass (She probably could do that in the actual game but she probably would since they good.... friends :3. also she's most likely not good at handling conflict without her guitar). Yea, replacing a charcter's entire species may cause a hic up or two in the original writing but it can also give way to interesting dynamics specially in beastars. I don't think "big herbivore, small carnivore" relationships has been explored much in beastars itself. It always focused on big apex predators vs meek and week herbivores, probably for its themes rather than being realistic. Well, the expection to that statement would be Gouhin and Legoshi but other than that i cant think of others.
How Katy and Lammy first interact is something im a bit on the fence about since this was made for me to think about the cool action scenes with Katy and the gang lmao. Im questioning whether I should use something akin to how haru and legoshi first met, just without the pouncing and more about idk an accidently scratch on the hand due to cat relaxes. The way i thought of it was maybe Katy could accidently give a scartch after bumping into eachother ala "bumping into each other trope". Honestly, Ill probably decide to just use the game's explination of how Milkcan was formed. Incidently I've imagined of the parappa gang in the drama club but now that im thinking about it and writing this down, It should be changed into a music club instead, So it makes a bit more sense character wise. It's gonna be an edgy ass music club for sure
For the rest of the characters, Jack would obviously be Parappa since I really like the idea of Katy and Parappa being best friends. Nothing else to say other than Parappa may use onions in this Au. Unfortunately but most obviously, Parappa's best friend is gonna be the Riz of this AU. Yep PJ has murdered and ate someone (havent thought of who tho). Ma-san is gonna be the louis of this AU. Paula is gonna replace Bill since both characters teases their rival/friend. Matt is gonna be Juno lmao, he has a crush on katy but its not gonna go anywhere other than for comedy sake. Even though I like Juno's character, im not a big Matt fan ngl. idk I just needed someone to fit that role. Rammy is gonna be Pina, cuz ahhhhh Rammy a pretty boygirl ok? (i have no other reason other than it fits in my head).
Im probably not gonna focus too much on the teachers, other than Instructor Moosesha and Cathy Piller being 6-eyes. But they'd probably be cameos if they're lucky (i dont particularly like the teachers other than their music) Omg i just realised something. JOE CHIN COULD BE THE SHISHIGUMI LEADER. WHO COME I'VE NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT UNTIL NOW??? SINCE HE'S A DOG IT FITS EVEN BETTER CUZ THERES A LINE IN BEASTARS FROM ONE OF THE SHISHIGUMI MEMEBERS THAT CANIENES AND FELINES HAVE A RIVALERY. IM A FUCKING GENIUS
The thing im mostly drawn to is the fight scenes between Paula vs. Katy and Pj vs. Katy. The Beastars anime truly made those fight scenes from the manga even more exciting!
also one day Ill make a beastars parappa au drawing. Legoshi taking lammy's role since he's shy even tho Katy takes his place (do not question my AU methods!1!!!1) Louis being the ma-san of the group and Haru being a Bassist. --- this was written before I wrote the second paragraph lmao, so the drawing will probably focuse on legoshi in the drama club (without the murder drama unfortunently)

Something that Parappa universe has but beastars doesnt is sentient plants, this is evident with the character Sunny Funny. You can notice in her redesign, that she doesnt have facial features like the other characters on the chart. I'd decided it would be an interesting idea to have Sunny Funny be mute and communicate thru scents. It may take a while for some to try to decipher what she and, to an extend other, plant people are saying but once you get the hang of associating what each scent means then it should be no problem. Althought it may give the plant people bit of a hard time in articulating complex emotions or ideas with the people around them since they dont have regeneratable roots to connect and communicate with them fully.
Plants probably have similar values to sea people in beastars since plants are first in the food chain, they kinda have the last laugh since they absorb things from the ground left by all dead things. Of course with the help of the mushroom people heh.

Honestly, the first episode of parappa the rapper anime where Katy and Paula had that rivalary (it was just paula picking a fight with her honestly(sounds kinda gay, why are you as a girl picking on another girl????? are you jealous???? unsure of your emotions????? projecting????)) reminded me of Legoshi and Bill. Kinda made Paula a loser girl my bad, wasnt paying attention to the anime.
Speaking of them being like Legoshi and Bill, I made a short storyboard of them using that scene where bill shows legoshi the rabbit's blood. Instead of rabbit's blood, it's sheep's blood. Probably from Rammy, she sounds like she'd fit the description of "a bit of a rebel"

What should happen if parappa characters interacted with Beastars characters? This is from a parrelel universe where Paru Itagaki and Rodney Greenblat somehow met whilst creating their characters lmao. Tis but a glimpse however.
